Beautiful baby girl Leanna was my first newborn photo session of 2017. Leanna and her family were amazing to photograph and and Leanna was a star when it came to being positioned into newborn poses! They are such a stunning family! Leanna was born a little early, so we did her newborn session when she was about 4 weeks old at my Calgary studio. She was such an easy going newborn and made posing her a breeze!

For her session, we used pink, cream, purple, and peach colors throughout the wraps and props. Leanna was a great little poser and made it easy to get some of my favorite newborn poses! We were able to get a few adorable newborn poses on the beanbag and Leanna looked so cute in a fuzzy angora bear bonnet. Beanbags are ideal for newborn poses because they allow me to position little ones in the best placement for their comfort and weight. I love using bonnets, headbands and wraps to compliment beautiful newborn skin and show off the softness of their hair.

One of my absolute favorite photos from her session was in the potato sack pose where she gave us the sweetest little smile! Babies love being wrapped up nice and snug and are always the happiest in this newborn pose. Leanna slept so soundly throughout her session!

This is why I welcome families into my Calgary studio for their newborn photo sessions. With the perfect lighting conditions and a full arsenal of props at my disposal I can comfortably position and pose each newborn for the ideal newborn poses. Little ones are kept warm thanks to my studios temperature controls, meaning no matter how long the session takes, they’ll sleep soundly and comfortably.
