As a photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing so many beautiful moments for families, but there’s something extra special about photographing a loved one’s newest addition. I recently had the honor of meeting my younger cousin Jen’s sweet baby boy, Jordie, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her and her husband, Stu.

Jen and I grew up together, and I can honestly say she is one of the kindest, funniest, and easiest people to be around. Whether it was childhood memories or the laughs we’ve shared over the years, Jen has always been a ray of sunshine in my life. So when she told me she was expecting, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I immediately blurted out, “I have to photograph your baby!”

Fast forward to 2024, and there I was, photographing the adorable Jordie in my studio. And let me tell you—he definitely had his own agenda! While some newborns might sleep through their session, Jordie was determined to do things his way. But that’s what made it so special. Every little movement and expression was uniquely him, and it was a joy to witness. We captured Jordie’s personality, and that’s what made the session so memorable.

Jen and Stu are already such natural parents, and it’s clear that their love for Jordie is overflowing. Watching them with their little boy was pure magic. I’m beyond happy for them as they begin this exciting new chapter. Jordie is going to grow up surrounded by so much love, humor, and happiness—just like his amazing parents.
