Baby Boy Ben | Victoria Newborn Photos

Earlier this year I traveled to Victoria, British Columbia to photograph my friend Angie McCabe’s newborn baby boy, Ben. I first met Angie briefly nearly 7 years ago at the Baby Expo in Calgary. At the time I was expecting my first baby and we were looking for a photographer. We saw Angie’s work and loved her images – but she was actually due nearly at the same time I was so she was not able to photograph my daughter. Little did I know we would meet again over a year later at a photographer’s meetup.

We hit it off right away and have been great friends since. Angie is such a beautiful person inside and out. People are just drawn to her – she is one of the funniest, talented, and caring people that I know. Angie has photographed my family a few times and I cherish the amazing moments she has captured for us (check out her photography at Myrtle and Moss Photography). I was sad when Angie moved to Victoria but was so honored when she asked me to travel to Victoria to photograph her newborn baby boy. It was my first trip away from my two kids, but so good to see my friend and her beautiful new baby.

We had a record session the night I got in and actually stayed up until 5 am photographing Ben (this is what happens when you get two photographers together). The trip was over way too quickly but I am so glad that I was able to make the trip to do these photos for Angie. These are some of my favorite images from my trip.
